Why You Should Be Drinking Water
I can't express the necessity of staying properly hydrated. I see a lot of muscle ailments, but it is more often than seldom that the cause is dehydration. In order to maintain the health of your muscles you must remain hydrated. Signs of dehydration include:
- Increased thirst
- Dry mouth
- Muscle Cramping
Most of us have heard the suggestion to drink 8- 8 oz glasses of water a day. This is great for the average size person. However, we as human-beings come in all shapes and sizes. This is why myself and most other health professionals would suggest you calculate how much water you should drink a day
The equation is simply half your body weight in ounces.
For example, if you weigh 100 lbs. you should be drinking 50 ounces of water per day. Also, remember that this amount of water does not account for doing rigorous activity. By this I mean if you're planning on climbing a mountain or simply working out please consume more than your daily amount to account for your rigorous activity.
